About the Town
Shanklin is a lovely town with a lovely beach,with lots to do for all ages. We have shops, cafes and restaurant’s. There’s the “Old Village” with it’s thatched cottages and old church. Beautiful parks where you can listen to the local town brass band on Sunday evenings in the summer. Or just chill out sitting by the sea. The “Chine” goes from the village to the beach and is quite spectacular. And if you do not want to walk back up from the beach with it’s “Crazy Golf” and Ice cream Parlour you can take the lift.
About the Club
We are the oldest club in District 11. And although we are a small club we support both local and International Charities. We support our Rotary Club when required and help out at their annual Charity shop. Two weeks of hard work but great fun. The club also raises funds by hiring a table at either a local school or church fair and by having a raffle at club meetings. We try to make our meetings as interesting as possible by having speakers and demonstrations on various themes. Members try to attend District Meetings, Rallies and The Association Conference. We meet up with the ladies of the Ventnor Inner Wheel Club for social events most of which involve food of some kind. Like all Inner Wheel club’s we enjoy service, friendship and fun.
