About the Town

A beautiful Georgian market town, Lymington with a population of 14,330, is situated on the southern edge of the New Forest, between Southampton and Bournemouth and at the western end of the Solent. The town is world renowned as a sailing resort; there are two large marinas and  and two sailing clubs  and Close by the sailing clubs is an open-air seawater bath that was built in 1833. Lymington has a number of interesting independent shops including some designer boutiques. On Saturday a market is held in the High Street, the origins of which probably date back to the 13th century. The Old Town Quay is still used as a base by commercial fishing boats. Lymington is surrounded by outstanding natural beauty; to the north is the New Forest, and to the south, the Solent and the Isle of Wight.

About the Club

The Inner Wheel Club of Lymington, was chartered in 1949, originally for the friendship and mutual support of the wives of Rotarians. Inner Wheel soon grew to incorporate service in the wider community and is now the largest women’s service organisation in the world. We are proud to be a part of this organisation and although small in numbers, we are a busy and social club. Membership categories have also expanded in recent times, first to include the wider families of Rotarians and now to any woman who espouses the ideals for which Inner Wheel stands. Every month we have a dinner meeting and speaker and also a business meeting which all members can attend.
