About the Town
The waterfront village of Hythe lies between the New Forest National Park and Southampton Water. Hythe and it’s surrounding area, known as the Waterside is a fascinating area to explore and steeped in history. There are plenty of great pubs, restaurants and places to eat, great local shops, places to stay and things to do.
Hythe offers great locations to view the majestic cruise liners and container ships passing by, to and from the Port of Southampton. Hythe Marina with its distinctive fishing village style development has restaurants, or the seafront Promenade with its raised boardwalk.
Hythe is also the home of the world’s oldest pier train, trundling up and down Hythe’s famous Victorian pier to catch the ferry, which sails back and forth every half hour between Hythe and the city of Southampton.
About the Club
We are a friendly group who, since the changes in the rules of Inner Wheel, are very happy to encourage local ladies to join our club. Our meetings usually involve an interesting speaker and Inner Wheel business. We have been successful in raising funds for a host of charities over the years but this always been done in a way in which our members can enjoy themselves as well. We have various social events, including a birthday lunch and Christmas dinner, coffee mornings, walks, theatre visits and some evening get-togethers organised by our Social committee. We also help our Rotary Club on various funding raising events.
