Welcome to the Inner Wheel Club of Stratford upon Avon.
More about the Club:
The Inner Wheel Club of Stratford upon Avon received its Charter in 1947. It is a friendly, active club of enthusiastic like-minded women.
Members enjoy the fun and fellowship of working together to make a difference.
Our monthly club meeting is usually held on the first Monday of each month (except Bank holidays and August). The meeting provides the opportunity to meet up, socialise and enjoy a meal with friends old and new and chatter and laughter is in abundance.
A meal is usually followed by a speaker who will briefly talk on a variety of informative, interesting and often amusing subjects. There is then a short business meeting where plans and events for the coming months are discussed.
Friendship and fun are the key elements of our meetings.
We currently have 22 members and would very much welcome new members.

100th Anniversary and a sad goodbye
Inner Wheel is now 100 years old, and we celebrated the start of the Centenary year, which was also International Inner Wheel Day, with a ‘Hunger Lunch’, raising money for Inner Wheel’s International charity, Aquabox.
Although this was a celebration, it was also a sad goodbye to Sheena Smith, our Club president for the last two and a half years. Sheena is returning to Scotland, where a new home and relatives are waiting to welcome her back.
Sheena was presented with a Parker pen and said she has many happy memories from her years in Stratford, and will remember the Club and its members every time she uses the pen.
Sheena will be sorely missed with all her good works in the community, including taking in a Ukrainian refugee.
We wish her health and happiness in her new venture surrounded by friends and relatives.
Charities We Support
This year our charity is Dementia. All money raised will go to support the Dementia day care in Alcester.
International – we support Project Gambia. The charity has established a range of projects in schools, villages, and farms to provide education, support, and funding to enable people to find a sustainable solution to poverty.
A skittles evening was been organised with Rotary invited.
A Spooky supper was also organised at Vivien’s home, Rotary again being involved and invited.
Club Activities
Roger Cassidy, an ambassador for Aquabox, gave a presentation to the club about how Aquabox was created, and how it works to filter dirty water and save lives.
Queens Award winner Aquabox started in Wirksworth, Derbyshire, in 1992 by the local Rotary Club, with volunteers assembling water filters, filling boxes with emergency supplies, and then shipping them to areas where there is a humanitarian disaster.
Each box contains a water filtration system suitable for a family of five and can be operated for 6 years, eliminating the spread of water-borne disease such as dysentery, polio, cholera, and typhoid.
Aquabox Gold is an evolution of the original product, tailored to support a family with products to aid with shelter building, lighting, cooking, educational and hygiene.
