About District 25
District 25 comprises Surrey and West Sussex in which there are eight Inner Wheel Clubs: Chichester, Cuckfield & Lindfield, Godalming, Guildford, Hove, Lewes, Midhurst & Petworth and Seaford, with in all 222 members.
Surrey (below the M25) and West Sussex are both very beautiful. Surrey is known to be the county with the most trees. Our two counties cover both the North and South Downs - which is a National Park. Our local MP is trying to have the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty turned into a National Park also. Because of the beauty of the area, the National Trust owns a lot of grand old houses here, many of which are open to the public. Many towns have their own Museum, there is the Cranleigh and South Eastern Agricultural Society for the farming communities.

Welcome
Hi! I’m Anne (very fussy about the ‘e’).
I feel very honoured to be your District Chairman for 2026-27. Previously I became District Editor in c2004 with no idea that I could become District Chairman twenty years later.
My charity for the year will be ‘Canine Partners’ (dogs for the disabled). They have had stalls at several Inner Wheel Conferences and I’m sure will be known to most of you.
I hope that we will have a ’fun’ year, but also a productive one. With a nett loss of over 800 members throughout GB&I last year, our priority must surely be to recruit new members wherever we can. I have found one already this year – a recently bereaved Lady who would welcome the friendship of Inner Wheel. I’m sure there are many more like her out there.
My main ambition for the year is to form a new Club within our District, and any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
I look forward very much to meeting you all when I visit your Clubs during the year.

There is gender inequality in education around the world, but by providing daily meals in school, we remove one hugely significant barrier for girls, giving them opportunities that they otherwise may not have.
