What We Do

We enjoy the friendship of our members, and members  of other Clubs in the District whilst doing our best to support a wide range of charities.

We organised a bucket raffle at the District International Service Rally in March, which was very successful, and helped raise a good sum for the Book Bus. We have also donated to Woodlarks, District Chairman Jennie’s chosen charity, and Air Ambulance.

Every year, a few of us support Rotary with their Santa Collections at Christmas time and in the Summer we enjoy a special Strawberry Tea.

A History of Carshalton Club

Carshalton Inner Wheel Club held their inaugural meeting on 21 November 1939 and received their Charter on 23 November that same year. The Founder President was Mrs M Bennett, 1939-1941.

Three months previously WWII had been declared and the fundraising for a Memorial Fund and raffle prizes of eggs and stockings reflect the mood of those times; milk bottle tops although collected then, were ‘sold’ for charity.
The Club became less formal by 1984 as titles were dropped along with the wearing of hats and gloves to meetings.

96 Members and guests celebrated our 80th Birthday in November 2019 with luncheon at Reigate Manor.
