This year we decided our Inner Wheel Day would be coupled with the 100 for 100 initiative for the Centenary Year. As a club we have been busy collecting items for this. We decided that half of the items collected would go to Ukraine as our Inner Wheel Day is usually dedicated to an International theme. 100 items made up of tubes of toothpaste and toothbrushes plus 50 packets of paracetamol have been sent to Ukraine. Another 100 items of toothpaste and tooth brushes has been collected and will be take to our local food bank.

At our first meeting of the year our speaker was Stephanie Houseman from Cornwall Library Information Services. Stephanie is a specialist officer and is also daughter of one of our members Ann Neal. Stephanie gave us a short but informative talk about the changes to the library service.
Around thirty libraries in Cornwall have become devolved and offer a range of services such as music groups and children’s education groups. There is a high turnover of books with newer and popular books being shared throughout Cornwall. E resources such as the borrow box where library members can download books, magazines, newspapers for reading on iPads all for free. The vote of thanks was given by President Val Pascoe.
Also during the meeting President Val also had the pleasure of inducting another new member, Dawn Surl.
Following on from this our annual Christmas bring and buy held during the November meeting proved to be a success too. Also this year we are able to hold our Christmas Tombola at Par Garden Centre and this will help swell the funds in our charity account.
This year President Val has also focused on the friendship side of Inner Wheel and has organised several social events such as meeting for Coffee at various locations and day trips out together. These occasions are being greatly enjoyed by members and are something that will be set to continue in the future.
