Joint District Chairman

Mary Mitchel - Joint District Chairman

Terri Young - Joint District Chairman

Welcome

We have two joint District Chairman this year, each responsible for areas within our district.

DC Mary Mitchell

I moved to Cornwall in 1975 to work my Uncles Farm of 400 acres. It took a little while to get to know and be known in our small community as It was between Newquay and Padstow. I started with cattle and arable but soon moved into sheep as I could put problems right when they went wrong, invariably at the weekend.

I married. My Husband was a Rotarian, farmer / Campsite owner. After 25 years my Husband wanted to retire - I decided to sidestep and had a business in Padstow for the next 15 years. I love travelling and have been fortunate to go to many fascinating places and meet people from many walks of life.

My hobbies include gardening, singing in two choirs, playing a fiddle in folk band for Nos Lowen's,

I have been an Inner Wheel member at Perranzabuloe Club since it formed 31 years ago and look forward to being District Chairman.

DC Terri Young

My name is Theresa but most of my friends call me Terri,

I have recently retired after a long career as a Midwife,Nurse and Foot Practitioner so I am looking forward to spending more time with my family and friends.

I enjoy tending to my unruly garden where I try to grow my own vegetables and fruit as well as sewing in my spare time.I also love attending music festivals, most recently I went to Morvala Festival at Mount Edgcumbe which was fabulous.

Having been a member of the Inner Wheel Club of Bodmin for around 10yrs I am now looking forward to visiting our sister clubs and meeting you all throughout the year and hearing about all the wonderful things that you do.

Who we support

Support will also be given to President Pat's chosen charity, Papyrus www.papyrus-uk.org

The International charity remains as Mary's Meals

There is gender inequality in education around the world, but by providing daily meals in school, we remove one hugely significant barrier for girls, giving them opportunities that they otherwise may not have.
