Where do we meet?
Stirling Inner Wheel is part of Inner Wheel District 1, and we meet at the Court Hotel, University of Stirling, Airthrey Rd, Stirling FK9 4LA
Meetings are held at 12.30pm on the first Friday of September, November, January, February, April & June and at 6pm on the first Tuesday of October, December, March & May. No formal meetings are held in July & August but coffee mornings, fundraising and social events continue throughout the year.
Our Club
Our Stirling Club was chartered in 1948 and will celebrate our 75th anniversary in 2023. We currently have 31 members. As well as the monthly meetings members enjoy coffee mornings, knitting, regular walks and outings as well as fundraising for local and international projects.
Stirling
Stirling In Scotland is known as the ‘ Gateway to the Highlands’. It is the smallest of Scotland’s Cities but also one of the most stunning and picturesque.
Enter the heady world of Scotland’s Renaissance Kings and Queens and discover the fascinating history of the city. Stirling Castle is located on a craggy volcanic rock, at the highest point of the Abbey Craig outcrop, here the National Wallace Monument stands 91.44 meters above sea level. It’s total height is a 67 meters on the shoulder of the Abbey Craig. 246 steps takes you to the top where you will be rewarded with a most fantastic view over Wallace’s famous battle at Stirling Bridge.
The University of Stirling is ranked top 40 in the UK. The campus is situated on a magnificent 330-acre estate, Centred around a large loch and 18th -century Airthrey Castle. All facilities are a short walk from each other.

CAR BOOT SALE

District Rally in Aberdeen

START UP Stirling
Members have been suporting START UP STIRLING by collecting foodstuffs at their meetings to go to their foodbank. This is done on a bi monthly basis and the picture above shows Anne Rankine handing over the recent collection – 130kg of goods.

100 for 100
MOC Lesley Niven has started her 100 mile cycle on her trike. President Teresa Hill has raised £444 for the Doddie Weir Foundation by filling 100 jars with small change, over 100 donations of pet food have been gathered to go th the Food Bank and the club plan to complete 100 hours of volunteering.

Support to Ukranians living locally
This year over £1000 of funds has been spent supporting Ukrainian Refugee families now living in Dunblane. This has included toiletries, underwear and clothes for a 15 year old boy who arrived in only the school uniform that he was wearing. Christmas gifts were boght for all the children – members were given the appropriate ages and gender. Members Judith, Judy, Nanette & President Marjorie are seen handing over the gifts
Tree planting
Members visited Cambusbarron primary school to plant a flowering Cherry Tree. This was planted in memory of our Past President Judith Vaughn- Sharp – in the gardens of her grandson Finlay’s primary school. It was a lovely moment in memory of Judith who contributed so much to our Stirling Inner Wheel.
