Where do we meet?
Perth Inner Wheel is part of Inner Wheel District 1, and we meet at the Royal George Hotel, Tay Street, Perth. PH1 5LD. Meetings are held at 2.15pm on the first Thursday of the month. No formal meetings are held in July & August but coffee mornings, fundraising and social events continue throughout the year.
Our Club
Perth Inner Wheel Club was chartered in 1946, currently has 25 members and meets in the heart of the city. The Club has regular monthly meetings, normally with a speaker and has a full programme of events and outings. Through the programme, lifelong friendships are forged. The Perth Club has a remarkable history of community service. As society and people’s priorities have changed, so has Perth Inner Wheel. We are even more inclusive, welcoming ladies of all ages and backgrounds.
Our City
Perth is known as The Fair City after Sir Walter Scott’s 1828 novel “The Fair Maid of Perth”. During the late medieval period the city was also called St John’s Toun or Saint Johnstoun—a reference to its principal church, dedicated to St John the Baptist. The city’s football club preserves the name as St Johnstone F.C. The city often called “The Gateway to the Highlands”, a reference to its location on the major routes north.
Visit to the Japanese Gardens
We chose a fabulous day for our outing to the Japanese Gardens near Dollar.
Members were revived with tea and scones after touring the fabulous gardens

Our 100 for 100 Projects
Our knitters have completed over 100 beanies for premature babies at Ninewells Hospital. They have also completed 13 blankets and are still knitting . . . .
This tree was planted by the club at Kincarrathie House as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy in March 2022 and is flourishing still.
In the autumn members, together with some husbands and the Ganochy gardener visited recently to plant bulbs. These are in memory of those members and former members who have passed away – and we are also counting the bulbs towards our ‘100 for 100’ total.
