About District 24
Welcome to District 24 – a small active District with 8 clubs. District 24 has celebrated its 50th birthday, we were previously part of District 8 which covered Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex and a small part of Cambridgeshire, Essex broke away in 1974 and became District 24. Basildon is the most southerly and Harwich and Dovercourt the most northerly. We stretch almost to the Hertfordshire border in Harlow and to the east Clacton on Sea.
We encourage new members and involve them in the varied Inner Wheel activities we all enjoy.
I wish my fellow members of District 24 and all members of Inner Wheel a good year of Friendship, Service and Fun. I also wish Pat Russell a very good year as Association President.
District Chairman

District Chairman Kathryn Russell
Welcome
Inner Wheel has been part of my life for 23 years. I was quite young when I was introduced to the Inner Wheel Club of Harwich and Dovercourt.
I was the youngest member of our Inner Wheel Club for many years and working full-time. I have been President of the club, Secretary, ISO and Membership and Development Officer. I now feel it’s time, after having a year on the District Committee as Vice Chairman, to take on the position of District Chairman – an experience I am sure I will enjoy.
On a personal level, I have been married for 40 years; I have 2 children and one granddaughter. I enjoy gardening, art, sailing, holidays, looking after my granddaughter and, of course, getting involved with Inner Wheel. Before I retired, I was a secondary school English teacher.
I am looking forward to becoming District Chairman, getting to know the ladies at District Meetings but also when I visit their own clubs and celebrations of their Charters. In addition, I am also looking forward to Association Meetings and the Conference at Cheltenham in April.
