D129 Roborough Inner Wheel

Inner Wheel Club of Roborough

Past President Debbie had the pleasure of presenting her good friend Jenny Thomas a cheque supporting her charity CRY.
The Charity was set up by Jenny in memory of her son Nicholas.
Nicholas grew up in Devon before moving to Hertford to pursue a career in music. He was just 25 when he died suddenly from a previous undiagnosed heart condition believed to be (hidden heart syndrome) long QT, which can lead to fatal disturbances of the heart’s rhythm.
Her tireless fundraising since his death has been both heartfelt and inspirational.
Past President Debbie chose CRY as her charity and raised the money by organising a Fashion Show at Yelverton Golf club. The show was put on by Fiona from Beau Boutique in Yelverton.
Following on from the presentation Debbie went to see where the money gifted was used. 100 young people were being tested for possible Cardiac problems. This one session costs £7000 to set up with equipment and specialist consultants. The money raised by the Inner Wheel Roborough helped to support this clinic.

This is true Inner Wheel in action, fun, friendship and laughter to bring support to those who need it most.
