DOROTHY AND FRANK BOWKER RECEIVE A STAR FROM WIGAN COUNCIL

A Member of the Leigh Club, Dorothy Bowker and her husband Frank, received a “Star” from Wigan Council on Monday 28th October.  This was awarded to them for the work they have done for the community through the “Bridge”

The Bridge is a charity set up by Dorothy and Frank.   The Bridge offers surplus food from suppliers to the community at affordable prices.  It also uses food surplus in their café offering low-cost meals whilst encouraging social inclusion and wellbeing.

The Bridge was also thrilled to receive the Queens Award for Voluntary Service in 2021 for all the work done over the years.

Congratulations Dorothy and Frank
