Hope & Homes
Imagine not having the sense of belonging, or the emotional support that being part of a family provides. We believe that, above all else, children need a loving family and a place to call home. We work together with children, their families, communities, professionals, NGOs and governments across Central and Eastern Europe and Africa to ensure that institutionalisation is a thing of the past, and that no child has to grow up deprived of the love and care of a family.
Practical Action
We don’t believe in hand outs or temporary measure. For 40 years Practical Action has helped the world’s poorest people to improve their lives, for today and for generations to come.
The solution is a floating farm. Just £24.40 could pay for two floating vegetable beds, so that a family can eat, all year round.
Mary’s meals
‘Mary’s Meals is an international charity, with a simple idea that works. The charity provides one daily meal in a place of learning in order to attract chronically poor children into the classroom, where they receive an education that can, in the future, be their ladder out of poverty.
