This is “second time around” for Ethel as she was President in 2013-14.Ethel was born near Stirling, and she grew up in the Central Belt of Scotland. After graduating from the University of Glasgow, with a degree in French and German, she completed a year’s training and taught Modern Languages.In 1972 she married John and they moved to Macclesfield. As well as teaching she was a school governor for over 25 years. They have a son and daughter and six grandchildren, three of whom are under eight and as you can imagine, they are kept very busy. John has been President of the Rotary club and they are involved in Rotary events, from whisky tasting to helping at the Charities Bazaar each year.Ethel is looking forward to her year in office.
