About District 8
District 8 covers most of East Anglia, the large bulge of land on the East of England. It has a long coast line and inland are the fertile Fens with wide open horizons. Our 11 clubs are wide spread, with the majority on the coast and the rest deep inland resulting in long mileages attending District meetings. However, the latter seem to be well attended and membership fairly static.

Basically, I am a Norfolk Broad in all senses and after some years living and working abroad returned here to roost.
I began my Inner Wheel journey in 1987 when, as a rather reluctant recruit, I joined the Inner Wheel Club of Great Yarmouth. But of course all those misgivings disappeared and over these nearly 40 years I have experienced the great friendship, fellowship and sense of belonging I have found serving at Club, District, Association and International level.
Here we are at the beginning of another Inner Wheel year. I know I am going to enjoy this, my second term as District Chairman after 23 years, visiting the Clubs in District 8 and working together to continue to fulfil the aims of Inner Wheel for the benefit of communities both at home and overseas.
