District 7 has 499 members from towns and villages across the East Midlands.
We stretch from Ashby de la Zouch in North Leicestershire, up to Sleaford Kesteven in Lincolnshire, across to Huntingdon in Cambridgeshire and, through Northamptonshire, down to Sandy in Bedfordshire.

Welcome to District 7
I am immensely proud to be District Chairman for the year 2024-2025 in its 86th year.
I have been a member of Ashby de la Zouch since 2015, where I am Club correspondent and was President through lock down.
I was District Editor in 2016 for 4 years then Membership and Development Officer, to which I still am, in my fourth year running along-side my role as District Chairman.
I am not a native of Ashby but a Barnsley lass, with a love for my mother’s native county Cumberland.
I am looking forward to my year, visiting all the 24 clubs in our district at their business meetings, joining in with their fundraising events.
We meet three times a year as a district with a meal and then business meeting, we usually have a raffle to raise funds for the international charities.
We are a big recycling district, Bottle tops for a Cancer charity, ring pulls for the Purple Community, Stamps, Postcards, Tin Cans for Helicopter pads, and many more will be added this year.

Who we support
My Charity is Ashby Museum where I was a volunteer for 15 years.
Ashby Museum, founded in 1982, began in Lower Church Street, Ashby de la Zouch.
After the North Street Infants School closed the Museum moved into their old premises in 1992.
In 2004 a successful application to the Heritage Lottery Fund enabled the construction of a much-needed extension.
It is an independent Museum totally run by volunteers and must survive on grants and donations. Recently, the grant received from LCC was withdrawn, this was a big blow to the museum.
It is not just a museum it is a place to visit, volunteer, make friends and give you an interest, it is also supporting its members in times of stress and family troubles. The Museum also has volunteers sent from the Job Centre, which is keeping them occupied while applying for jobs, also, after a while the begin volunteering, they can ask for a reference from the Trustees, keeping their dignity and discipline intact.
