The members of IW Biddulph welcomed a very special guest to their quiz evening in September; non other than Russell Watson, who was part of the winning quiz team. Not only that but he also sang. What a night!

Focus on Biddulph

Biddulph Inner Wheel Club was founded in 1969 and our first President was Ailsa Clewlow, our current secretary ( who was very pregnant at the time! ). This year we have 2 members sharing the position;  Carole Dale and Tessa Hall. The Biddulph club has, in the past, provided three District Chairman and we support conferences and conventions. We meet on the third Monday of the month in the Egerton Arms at Astbury, for a meal and sometime a speaker. At these times we invite other clubs as we do at at our Birthday and Christmas celebrations for fellowship and friendship, important elements of the club, augmented with theatre visits and joint evenings with the Rotary Club of Biddulph. Our activities include holding an annual quiz at Biddulph bowling club for fifty people and a yearly BBQ at Glebe Farm raising funds for our many local and District charities. Our ladies and indeed some of their families and friends have knitted many large blankets, babies cardigans, hats and small blankets, willing to help with whatever is needed. We have District Choir members also. Although only a small club, we are determined to keep going, helping our community and promoting Inner Wheel and working to attract more members.
