District 4 International Rally

District 4 International Rally

At District 4’s International Rally in Leeds, our speaker was Elizabeth Cluderay who gave an interesting and informative talk on the work of Artizan International.  Their mission is to transform the lives of people with disabilities, enabling them to lead independent lives.  They brought along some goods from their shop, of items made by people they are helping in Peru and Ecuador.  There followed Afternoon Tea organised by the District Executive.  Money raised on the sales of recipe books, complied and printed by the International Committee, in which there were some delicious recipes contributed by each club in the District.  The money raised was divided between Artizan and Smile Train.  Jennifer Angus, our incoming District Chairman (and currently our International Chairman) presented a cheque for £1,000 to Sarah Davis at Artizan’s Cafe in Harrogate.
