Inner Wheel District 22

Inner Wheel District 22

About District 22

Inner Wheel District 22 covers Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire and is one of the 28 Districts that make up the Association of Inner Wheel Clubs in GB&I. There are 20 clubs in the District with around 500 members. Most clubs have a formal meeting each month to enjoy fun and friendship together with social and fundraising activities.  District 22 is pleased to have 17 ‘Members at Large’.  (These are Ladies whose club has closed and they are unable to attend another club.)
All District 22 clubs are friendly and inviting and would welcome you to visit them to see Inner Wheel at its best.

District Chairman

District Chairman Lyn Copper

Welcome

Two years of planning behind me, leads me to a year that is daunting and very exciting but I’m also aware of the great privilege it is to be your District Chairman for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

Following our Centenary celebrations last year, I will be focusing on and going back to the basics of Fun, Friendship and Service, which must have driven Margarette Golding and her ladies when she founded our wonderful organisation in Manchester in 1924.

Along with our core values, I aim to look forward and focus on my passion, Membership and Development, if we want Inner Wheel to survive its second century.   I know this is not an easy task but a necessary deed, just as much as the Friendship, Fun and Service demonstrated so easily throughout our District.

I look forward to visiting you all and hearing your plans for the future in District 22.

DC Lyn Copper

Who we support

Nottinghamshire Carers Mission Statement

Nottinghamshire Carers Association provides support, advice and information to Health Professionals, Schools and employers regarding Carers.

Nottinghamshire Carers Association will work to ensure that all Carers, regardless of age, gender, religion, culture or relationship to the person they care for, should have the same rights, hopes, expectations and choices as people who are not Carers.

Nottinghamshire Carers Association will campaign to raise public awareness of the Carers role.

Derbyshire Carers Mission

Our mission is to make a positive difference to the lives of local Carers by; increasing public awareness of the Carer’s role, challenging the inequalities unpaid Carers face and offering tailored support that is Carer-driven, professional, compassionate, respectful, inclusive and meets individual needs.

International Charity

Smalls for All® is a charity that collects new pants and new or gently worn (laundered) bras for people in Africa and the UK who can’t afford or can’t get any, because dignity matters.
Giving pants and bras may seem like a small thing, but it can make a life-changing difference. For example, each month many teenage girls miss school and women miss work because having no pants means they’re forced to stay at home during their period.
