Who we support

derian house

Derian House helps children and young people, whose lives are too short, to make happy memories in an environment of fun, respect and above all, Outstanding Care.

The care provided is free for families, but services cost £6 million to run every year with under 30% of funding we need coming from the government.

Derian House provide respite and end-of-life care to more than 400 children and young people across the North West.

They do this 24 hours a day, seven days a week, They never close to those who are in need.

Thier help extends right across the family to brothers, sisters, parents and grandparents.

Derian look after children and young people right up until their 26th birthday offering palliative care, respite stays, day care, holidays and end of life support. We continue to offer transition support for those young people who are leaving us up until their 28th birthday ensuring they have a well-established network of support in their community

The Daniel Baird Foundation

Blood control Kits

What is being done by Lynne Baird MBE and the foundation is making a huge difference to us all.”

Lynne Baird’s life was ripped apart in the Summer of 2017, when her 26 year old-son Daniel was stabbed during a fight outside a Digbeth pub. He received no first aid at the scene and bled to death shortly after reaching hospital.

The tragedy was a catalyst for Lynne to create a foundation in her son’s name. The foundation pioneered ‘bleed control kits’ for use in public venues and supplies free training in their use. So far the kits have been installed across London and the West Midlands. And we now want them in the North

Her determination to help not only communities but the police be better equipped and trained to prevent loss of life is a fitting tribute to her son. Given a knife or car crash victim can bleed to death in less time and ambulance takes to get to them, the kits are a true life-saver.”
