About District 13
We call ourselves “Inner Wheel in London” and seven of the clubs in this district are in various London boroughs, with Chelsea and Westminster club meeting at lunchtime in central London. The district was founded in 1933 and we were delighted when the Inner Wheel club of South East London was chartered in 2024, Inner Wheel’s 100th anniversary year. It was the Association’s first new club for the new century. Another first was when our most recent, and eighth club, the Inner Wheel London UK e-club was chartered in May 2026, this being the Association’s first e-club.
Because of our location, we have many requests from visiting overseas Inner Wheel members to meet with our members, whilst they are on visits to London. In this way we have forged many friendships from around the world.
Each of our clubs in District 13 has something special and unique. It might be a great social programme, a special annual event or just a pleasant venue where at each monthly meeting friends get together and share each other’s company. The new e-club offers many new and exciting opportunities for members who are unable to attend traditional clubs but share our ethos of friendship and service.
District Chairman

District Chairman Angela Jacobs
Welcome
My Inner Wheel journey began in Nigeria in 1982 through Rotary, leading to the formation of the Inner Wheel Club of Onigbongbo in 1983, where I served as Charter Secretary and later Club President. Over the years, I held several district leadership roles, including Chairman’s Representative and District Treasurer, while actively supporting conferences, rallies, and Inner Wheel celebrations.
After relocating to the United Kingdom, I continued my Inner Wheel service through clubs in Leigh, District 128 and Salisbury, District 11 before I chartered the Inner Wheel Club of South East London, District 13 in 2023/2024. In 2026, I helped establish the first Inner Wheel London UK E-Club in Great Britain and Ireland.
Professionally, I have built a career in administration, healthcare, training, and organisational development. As I begin this new Inner Wheel year, I look forward to growing membership, establishing new clubs, and promoting our theme: Grow and Flourish.

Who we support
DC Angela’s chosen charity for the year is Age UK, the UK’s leading charity for older people. Age UK provides a wide range of services designed to help older people stay independent, safe and connected. DC Angela has chosen this charity because she has been involved both personally and professionally in the care of elderly people and enjoys the friendships that can develop from these connections.
Our International Service Officer has chosen Hope for Justice for clubs to support this year. Hope for Justice runs anti-trafficking projects in the UK and elsewhere, working directly with victims and survivors of modern-day slavery. It was felt that this charity dovetails well with last year’s charity Hestia – Life Beyond Crisis, and the UN Orange the World initiative.
