About District 12
Inner Wheel District 12 covers all of Kent, part of East Sussex and some London Boroughs.
We have 17 clubs in the District with roughly 800 members.
Aylesford Bridge (pictured) was built in the 14th century to cross the Medway at Aylesford. The bridge is constructed from Kentish ragstone and formerly had eight pointed arches without ribs. However, in 1824 the two centre arches were replaced by a single arch of 60 feet span. The outer 6 arches are pointed and double-chamfered with stone dressings. Sloping buttresses to piers with cut-waters below on rebuilt concrete foundations, revealed only at low tide. The bridge is Scheduled and Listed Grade I.

District Chairman Rosemarie Barnes
Welcome
I have been a member of IW for over 30 years and made many friends, both in my own club and District, also when attending Conferences and Convention this year. I am passionate about Inner Wheel
The support we give each other is truly magnificent and particularly in my own Club of Gillingham where over the past year we have had several members, including myself, lose our husbands. We support and “are there” for each other.
My Charity ‘ Holding On Letting Go’ is my choice for the support they give to children in bereavement and my reason for choosing was the result of my experiences as a Retired Community Nurse and Bereavement Counsellor.
I’m hoping that we will get many new members and continue to enjoy our Inner Wheel with Fun,Fellowship,Friendship and …. just a little food !!
Ditton Community Hall, where District 12 have all their meetings, International Rallies and Quiz afternoons is situated in Ditton, which is a long narrow Parish, where by the main residential area has been steadily developed since 1922, when Aylesford Paper Mill was established on the banks of the Medway, and its situated on either side of the main road. The Parish has farmland to the South and Industry to the North.
It is unique in that it boasts the only ford in the Tonbridge & Malling Borough which, along with the 15th Century Church, is situated in a Conservation area.

Who we support
HOLDING ON LETTING GO
Support for the whole family to cope with bereavement
A death might be someone outside of the family or close friendship circle. If a child is affected by a death in any way, we are here to support them and you, as much or as little as they need.
Sometimes, more than one person in their family has died or there are sudden and traumatic circumstances surrounding the death, such as suicide, a road accident or murder.
Our support helps the child through bereavement – whatever the circumstances.
