D9 Charity speakers share their personal stories

Two wonderful young women shared with Banbury club members their moving and inspiring stories of surviving sepsis. Raising awareness of the support work done by the UK Sepsis Trust, they shared with us the key symptoms to watch out for in adults and children, and stressed the importance of taking such symptoms seriously. The high number of fatalities, even in patients admitted to hospital, indicate that we should always be ready to ask “Could it be sepsis?”, so that medical professionals are prompted to perform tests and administer swift treatment. The club is very happy to be supporting this charity in the year ahead.
