In November, District President Heather Hewson was our guest at the meeting. She is a member of Watton Club. Heather told us a little about her rural life, her husband’s love of tractors and her deafness. Judy Patston reported on the very warm welcome she received on her recent trip to New Zealand by IW clubs. On the 9th of January we celebrated Inner Wheel World Day at the United Reform Church Hall and, in friendship, had a lovely bring and share lunch. Also, in November we had a fun Beetle drive at Bronwyn Attenborough’s house a sociable evening with fish & chips.
In December we had a festive meal at the Saffron Walden Golf Club, where we shared a pleasant evening together with a Christmas meal and our annual secret Santa. Also, in December we did a charity collection at our local Tesco’s and collected £500 which will be shared between the Saffron Walden Youth Outreach Project and Maggie’s Cambridge.
Here are the lucky recipients of the free raffle who each took home a heart lovingly made in New Zealand given to Judy when she visited their club earlier in the year.
