D8 IW Woodbridge have a great summer!

Way back in May, there was a wonderfully hot Summery day bringing lots of smiling people out to Elmhurst Park in Woodbridge, to enjoy a fun day of peace for the 80th anniversary of peace. There were many visitors competing to get the most marbles in the jar and playing the hook a duck game which kept everyone busy and the generous donations for taking part resulted in a super donation to Woodbridge Riding for the Disabled.

At the June meeting, following a delicious meal and the AGM, President, Judy Hardcastle, welcomed Ruth Goodship as a member of the Woodbridge club after she transferred from another group.

Members were reminded of the up and coming Knit and natter at Notcutts 30th July 2.00pm  where fish and chip baby outfits are knitted whilst having a catch up and enjoying a coffee and cake.

Cakes were requested from members who like to bake for the memory café which  continues to be a very popular place to visit from 10.30 am on the last Wednesday of each month at Woodbridge Football Club.  If you know someone with memory loss, they are welcome to attend with a carer.

As the Inner Wheel year draws to a close, the July meeting saw President Judy handing over office to Deirdre Griffin who will lead members through a very special  75th Anniversary for the Woodbridge club.

Woodbridge IW members meet at Ufford Park Hotel at 6.30 pm on the first Thursday of each month. Find out more about the club and its aims and objectives at District 8
