D8 District Chairman visits Ely Inner Wheel

D8 District Chairman visits Ely Inner Wheel

On Wednesday 24 September District Chairman Angela Leggett-Bond came to the Inner Wheel club of Ely.  After the usual monthly business meeting, Angela who had driven from her home in Beccles, gave us an interesting resume of her life and interests in Inner wheel.  At the age of 18 she joined ROTARACT in Beccles and had no knowledge of Inner wheel only Rotary. However in her adult life she joined Inner Wheel and has been President twice of Bungay Inner Wheel club and is now a member of Inner Wheel Ipswich. Angela attended the Association Conference in Manchester along with 3,000 women from around the world and is aware of Inner Wheel’s global influence. She is already booked into the Annual Conference in Llandudno 2026 and hopes to be attending the International Conference in the Philippines 2027. Angela’s choice of Charity for her year is the Lighthouse, a Suffolk based charity that supports women , young people and  children who are affected by domestic abuse.   Ely President Julia Smith presented Angela with a cheque for her charity together with a souvenir gift of her visit to Ely.
