Knit 2, Pearl 2- Raising awareness of violence against Women

At the IW Sale Club we may be a small group but we’re full of enthusiasm and ideas of how to support or community.

As part of ‘Orange the World’ we raised our knitting needles to meet the knitting challenge to make orange poppies to give away to members of the public to raise awareness of violence against women.

Altogether we have knitted nearly 200 orange poppies over the past 8 weeks.  On Monday 8th December we descended on Sale Library to hand out flyers and poppies  to all who passed through the Library.

We are pleased to say that there was plenty of interest in the poppies and the appeal.

We are hopeful that we can take this forwards into the future on an annual basis.
