D5 IW Nantwich Presidents for 2025-26

Nantwich Inner Wheel members are delighted that Brenda Brockbank and Chrissie Weaver are sharing the Presidency for 2025-2026.

Both have been active members of Inner Wheel. Brenda has been a member since 2001 and was President in 2011, as well as previously holding the roles of Secretary and Club Correspondent. Chrissie joined Inner Wheel in 2013 and was President in 2016/2017 as well as being the Minutes Secretary in another year.

Brenda has held numerous roles following her retirement as Assistant Head of Sixth Form including Chair of Governors at a local village primary school. She also volunteers with the Multiple Sclerosis Society and until recently was Chairperson of the local branch which was very demanding organising fundraising as well as employing staff to deliver services such as counselling. As well as all her voluntary work Brenda is a carer for her husband who has MS and enjoy holidays abroad and, in the UK, with their latest trip to Northumberland which included canoeing.

Chrissie graduated in Psychology. Following her graduation, she worked in the Lord Chancellors Department for twelve years undertaking many civil court administrative roles, before having her two daughters. During this time, she took a Christmas role one day a week at Hobbycraft for twelve weeks and ended up staying twelve years! Whilst the children were small, Chrissie took a counselling qualification which allowed her to provide a counselling service as life allowed. She is now a self-employed Counsellor for a number of clients. She is passionate about the two charities she works for – Survive, a micro charity for survivors of childhood abuse and the Alpha Omega Women Peace and Security Foundation, which provides inclusive and diverse support for women.

Brenda and Chrissie are firm friends and can be seen with friends in the coffee shops of Nantwich.

Brenda and Chrissie have chosen two charities to support. Breast Cancer Now the research and support charity together with campaigning for the best treatment, services and care for all affected by breast cancer.

Medical Detection Dogs trains dogs to detect the odour of human disease early and help others with conditions such as epilepsy.

We wish them well for an amazing year sharing presidency.
