D5 IW Buxton President Mary

I joined Inner Wheel in 1978 as a member of the New Mills Club, the club where my mother had been a member. I am a widow with one daughter. She and her husband live with me. During my time as a member of New Mills, I was President, Treasurer, Overseas Service Organiser and Club Correspondent. I moved from Disley to Buxton in 1985 but stayed as a member of New Mills until, sadly, the club folded due to lack of members. I then joined Buxton Inner Wheel where I have served as Overseas Service Organiser, Treasurer and now President for the second time. My chosen charity is, once again, a local charity, Helen Atkin, Riding for the Disabled which is the local branch in Buxton of the national charity Riding for the Disabled. The group provides riding therapy for local disabled children and adults using selected horses and ponies.
