It was a glorious autumn Sunday morning when over 180 men and women set off for the Andrew Heywood Memorial Fell Race. It is a challenging 13.5 mile race in the Goyt Valley, near Buxton. Members of IW Buxton plus Andrew’s widow Jenny provide refreshments for the muddy, sweaty but very cheerful runners when they finish the race. A good time is had by most, if not all and the proceeds go towards our gifts to small local charities at Christmastime.
