District 5’s Rally under the direction of International Service Officer, Ruth Gunning, was a resounding success due mainly to the gathering of members and friends happy to partake of Sunday lunch in  one of Cheshire’s lovely venues, whilst at the same time supporting a worthwhile Charity – ‘Child.org’  Our Speaker was Lucy James who spoke with great conviction on their work championing community based health care by setting up groups of pregnant women, new mums, communities and government to provide life saving antenatal  and post natal health care information in Africa. Their mantra is. “No mother or her baby should die from preventable causes.”

Eleven Clubs were represented and  we were privileged to have our District Executive team and Association Vice President Pam Boyes with us.  A sumptuous raffle was  organised by members of Sandbach Club which raised a good amount for the charity which we hope will be augmented by Clubs throughout the year. Our thanks go to all those present who came prepared to join in the buzz of conversation and to lend support to District 5’s endeavours to uphold Inner Wheel principles.
