The Young Musician of the Year competition, organised jointly with Ripon Rotary, Ripon Rowels Rotary Clubs and Ripon and Ripon Rowels Inner Wheel Clubs, took place at the weekend in St John’s Church, Sharow. 
Wendy Hunter, Ripon Rowels Inner Wheel joint President awarded the prize for Class1 to Rose Hirst. Margaret Mitchell, President of Ripon Inner Wheel presented the cup to Laurie Roberts and Riya Nair, winners of the Ensemble Class and 
Ripon’s Mayor presented the winner of the EPTA cup which is for outstanding piano playing to Gerard Tam. Well done to all the talented young people who took part in the competition over the weekend.
