Ripon International Officer Dorothy Matthews presented Board Member Ann Acaster with a cheque for £900 for School in a Bag. This money had been raised by Ripon Club at several different events over the year. Unfortunately, due to a technical hitch, the talk from Luke Simon was not able to take place but in true Inner Wheel fashion, Ann stepped into the breach and gave a brief history of the founding of the charity following the death of Luke’s brother Piers in the Indian Ocean tsunami in 2004. Following the talk, District 4 International Chairman Jennifer Angus brought greetings from D4 Executive and members from Ripon, Ripon Rowels and Aireborough Clubs enjoyed tea, scones and cakes and a friendly afternoon of chatter.
