D24 – Wickford Inner Wheel

D24 – Wickford Inner Wheel

Wickford Inner Wheel held a very successful Christmas Fayre and lunch, appreciating the support from other clubs in D24.

A final presentation was made to Farleigh Hospice by Jayne Moorhouse, last year’s President.  Jayne had completed a skydive in May which raised on Just Giving £1,800+ gift aid, and £3,000 through the club’s fundraising activities.

The current charities, the Aofac foundation and the MacMillan information centre at Southend University Hospital who will benefit from the profits of the day.

Members gave away small homemade orange flower brooches and handouts explaining who they were, and why they were all wearing orange, as they made their way up and down Wickford High Street on Tuesday 25th November.

There was a lot of interest and some good encounters, and they made a good splash of colour.  The post box topper will be on display until 10th December when this year’s Orange the World campaign finishes.
