D22 Welcome in their new District Chairman

D22 Welcome in their new District Chairman

On 28 July, members and friends of D22 met at the DoubleTree by Hilton to welcome our new District Chairman, Joy Fox.
Following a morning of induction for club officers, we enjoyed a good lunch with pleasant company.
The meeting in the afternoon was both happy and sad. When Immediate Past District Chairman Lyn Copper presented a cheque to Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Young Carers, there was great joy that the amount of £8418.38 had been raised. There was sadness, however, when badges were presented to outgoing officers and when Lyn passed over her chain to Joy Fox. Then the mood changed again as we were excited to welcome Joy into her role and as she introduced her new executive team. Joy then made her address, and both Nightingale McMillan and Nottinghamshire Hospice told us about the work they do and how any money raised will be used.
It was an enjoyable and informative day, and we are looking forward to great things in our new IW year.
