D22 – Swadlincote meets the challenge!

At Induction Day, District Chairman Lynda set a challenge for members; being the district’s fifty-fifth year, she asked us all to do a challenge containing fifty-five things.
With this challenge in mind our President Di decided to utilize her summertime whilst on the Isle of Wight, walking! To make the most of the beautiful weather and to keep cool she decided to walk along the beach, tide permitting, to get the sea breeze. The first challenge was 55,000 steps, completed, the second challenge fifty-five miles, completed and well on the way to the second fifty-five, the third challenge fifty-five walks, still ongoing but over halfway through.
We were delighted that President Bal of the Melbourne Club extended an invitation for our members to join her members for an afternoon Tea during August, a delightful time was had by all. Extending the hand of friendship is what Inner Wheel does best.
