D22 Orange The World

D22 Orange The World

Representatives from clubs in the District met at The Riddings Park Community Centre on 31 July to learn about this exciting project.
Member of Council Elaine Hopkins led the session and provided us with information about what “Orange the World” is, where it originated, and its purpose. This UN-supported project, to raise awareness about violence against women and girls, will be a focus for all of us from 25 November to 10 December.
Those who attended the meeting were fully in support and very enthusiastic about being involved. There was a sharing of ideas on how we could make the best impact. Some amazing suggestions were made to raise awareness of OTW, we just need your help.
At the next District Meeting we hope that everyone will wear or have something orange in support of this initiative and of course we hope members will wear lots orange during the dates of the project.
