On 12 November the District held their International Service Rally. It was, as always, a wonderful event.
The Hostess provided a lovely meal, and the chatter and laughs during lunch are so reflective of the enjoyment our ladies have in each other’s company.
Jane Wright, from Mary’s Meals was the guest speaker. She spoke with passion about the amazing work Mary’s Meals do and the videos of the children who are receiving these meals was very humbling.
It is hard to comprehend just how little pleases these children. A mug of something which is porridge like each day brings joy to their faces and means that they have a better chance of a successful future. With full stomachs they learn better and so can gain the education they need for their futures. Just 10p for a meal per child is so little and yet has such an impact on the individual child and their families.
As always ladies bought lots of raffle tickets and a cheque was presented to Jane to help with their invaluable work.
