D22 Congratulations to Joan

D22 Congratulations to Joan

Congratulations to Joan!

What an amazing year for Joan Green, not only has she had a special birthday she has also received a Margarette Golding Award.

This award is for highly commendable service in the community, and she certainly deserves this. After retiring from teaching she became a volunteer for the National Police Aid Charity (NPAC) and has played a major role in collecting items to send to countries in Europe and Africa.

Joan has been to Zambia on many occasions going into local schools and delivering educational goods. She is highly regarded in the schools she helps, and the Kasebi School in Kafue, Zambia, honoured her by naming an area The Joan Green Block.

She has encouraged IW members in our district to help by donating items and making baby bundles and Joy Bags. Joan visits other Clubs to tell them about her ongoing work in Africa and is a member of the District International Team.

What a wonderful lady, and how pleased we are that she is a member of District 22.
