D14 Farnborough’s 65th Birthday Lunch

The Inner Wheel Club of Farnborough celebrated it’s 65th birthday with a lunch at Frensham Pond Hotel with friends, family and members of other Inner Wheel clubs. A welcome drink was provided and guests gathered outside on the terrace as it was a beautiful sunny day in a superb setting.
As the proceedings started, Club President Jo welcomed everyone and lit the candle of friendship. An excellent lunch was served and once the tables were cleared, the cake was cut By District Chairman Pauline and Jo. A choice of Birthday cake or cupcake was then offered to guests.

Yeoman Warder Scott Kelly was the after dinner speaker, with a talk about his life before becoming a Beefeater and his role now at the Tower of London. He was a thoroughly entertaining and informative speaker, keeping everyone amused. Scott wore his blue day uniform, quite a feat on a very warm day, and brought along his ceremonial red uniform to display. After his talk he was happy to pose for photos with guests and the uniform.
Everyone agreed it was a very enjoyable lunch.
