D10 Royal Forest of Dean – Tracie competes in British Transplant Games

If you want something done then ask a busy person. Our IW member Tracie, is a very busy lady indeed, not only does she work full time at a local school but in June 2023 she donated a kidney to her brother Simon. Since then, she has bounced back and has not let anything stand in her way. In fact, she has just returned from competing in the British Transplant Games in Oxford! There, she and the Gloucestershire team bagged four gold, two silver and two bronze medals!  After running in the 5km Doner Run, Tracie said: ‘I’m not a natural runner. I don’t particularly like running. I’ll take today’s 45.22 time and retire gracefully!’ Be proud! Well done Tracie and to all the Gloucestershire team! 🥇🥈🥉

Tracie’s enthusiasm for helping and bringing out the best in others is shown her troupe of Harmony Twirlstars where girls learn baton twirling, marching, flag and Pom Pom dance routines. Her members benefit from Tracie’s leadership bringing friendship, teamwork, discipline and confidence building.

Oh, and she still has time to garden, growing a splendid variety of fruit and vegetables. 🥬🫛🥕🍓
