Royal Forest of Dean Inner Wheel Club had glorious weather for the Autumn Half Marathon at the Speech House field in September, and a great turnout with the number of runners. Our members once again excelled themselves with the amount of cakes they baked. However, after spending the day serving food, we still had plenty of cakes left over, so our member Helen decided to take them to the local hospital in Cinderford for staff to enjoy on their breaks, where they were gratefully received.
Furthermore, whilst food was a huge attraction, our members also sold T-Shirts, worked in the Chip and Pin tent, and showed off our new display board which helped to demonstrate how we use monies raised at the marathon to help local, national and international charities. All in all a perfect day!
