D10 Hereford Donate Teddy Bears for National Teddy Bear Day

D10 Hereford Donate Teddy Bears for National Teddy Bear Day

The Teddy Trust encouraged Inner Wheel members to celebrate National Teddy Bear day 9th September as part of their talk. Members considered how a Teddy Bear could bring comfort to a traumatised child as they learnt about Teddy Trust activities. During 2024/25 financial year over 14,000 Bears were sent overseas to children and young people; who were living in extreme poverty or conflict, suffering abuse, isolation or grief.  Many children have become orphans due to conflict (Ukraine), are living on the streets (Cape Town) or have spent several years in refugee camps for Internally Displaced People (North Iraq)

A request for more Teddy Bears and finance for shipping was made.

Members of the Hereford Inner Wheel knitting group donated 25 lovely jumpers for Teddy Bears to wear.

Never underestimate the healing power of Teddy
