D10 Clevedon Inner Wheel Club held a charity concert by the Long Ashton Orchestra who played to a packed hall. The programme opened with Purcell’s Rondeau Abdelazar, followed by Beethoven’s Egremont Overture and Piano Sonata No.20. Conductor Chris Holley, aided by Orchestra Leader Oliver Humpage on the piano, explained the construction of a symphony, using Brahms’ Symphony No.1 as an example. The second half of the programme was Beethoven’s mighty Symphony No.5.The appreciative audience were extremely generous with raffle ticket purchases and donations, after our member Sheena explained the charity, the MPS Society, and their support of her three year old granddaughter.
The Name the Bear competition was won by our member Yvonne, who chose the name “Susie”.
