D1- Amazing Aberdeen

The members of Aberdeen Club got off the starting blocks early with one of the first Orange the World coffee mornings in the District
It was held at the home of PDC Doris Campbell – D1 webmaster and Club Treasurer.

Doris Campbell is pictured with Gloria Kochman, who celebrated her 90th year earlier this year, before she left for Las Vegas.

Members have continued to promote the Orange the World campaign in November & December and are delighted to report that Aberdeen Council have illuminated several buildings in Orange.

Six members attended the Banff club’s birthday lunch and enjoyed wearing the knitted poppies that Joyce Miller (Banff)had made for all attendees.

Another coffee morning was held for their honorary member Liz Pirie wearing orange of course!

Pamphlets and posters have been printed, displayed and distributed in Aberdeen and Westhill and club members have been out walking in Cairncross Woods.

The November club meeting was again an “orange” affair when their own club member, Margaret Eastmond, and husband Clifford spoke about their travels in Jordan.

Margaret Brown made table wreaths with the orange knitted poppies for each table.

Well done, Aberdeen
