Beccles Innerwheel give short talk on Edith Cavell

Beccles InnerWheel club members are giving short talks on famous women.  First talk given by Vice President Gail Harris was on Edith Cavell a famous nurse of the First World War , executed for treason by German firing squad in 1915. Her body was brought back to Norwich and buried in the grounds of the Cathedral in 1919.  Resulting from the talk 8 members went by bus to Norwich and after stopping for coffee by the river Wensum they arrived at the Cathedral where they visited Edith’s grave, a recently installed memorial and saw 14 paintings by Brian Wheldan depicting Edith Cavell’s life.
