During the last 12 months Hazel Grove members have been busy raising funds for a special project as part of their service to the local community.
Following the annual conference in 2023 when we heard about the Daniel Baird Foundation, raising awareness and funds for much needed bleed kits in the community. We decided to support this worthwhile cause. The speaker at the conference, Lynne Baird, tragically lost her son who was stabbed and could have been saved if a bleed kit was available.
The kits were developed by West Midlands Ambulance Service, leading consultants from Trauma Network and the Daniel Baird Foundation. They can be used to administer vital first aid to control a catastrophic bleed until medical services arrive.

Some of our members outside the Vernon Building Society in Bramhall with a bleed kit, these are placed inside the defibrillator cabinet. To access the cabinet, you should contact the emergency services on 999/112 to receive a code.

A further bleed kit was also provided and placed in the defibrillator cabinet housed outside Poynton Civic Hall.
A clear example of women working together in friendship and service to make positive changes in the world.
