Inner Wheel District 6

Inner Wheel District 6

About District 6

Our District sits in the heart of England and all our 10 clubs are based in towns, with members living within easy reach, whether it be in the local neighbourhood  or in the more rural areas.  This gives plenty of scope for friendship outings like a river cruise, a country walk, meeting up in a café or one of our many delightful pubs just for a chat or to plan events.

District Chairman

District Chairman Chris Pile

Welcome

Thank you for visiting our page.
It is a pleasure to introduce myself as your District Chairman 2026 – 2027
I was born in Birmingham to parents who emigrated from the beautiful Caribbean island of Jamaica during the 1950s. Their dedication and resilience inspired me to follow in my mother’s footsteps into nursing, where I enjoyed a rewarding NHS career spanning over 35 years.

I joined Inner Wheel in 1996 and have been a member of two clubs, holding a variety of offices in both. I am currently a proud member of the Inner Wheel Club of Edgbaston Convention and feel honoured to serve as District Chairman.

I am looking forward to visiting clubs across District 6, as well as our neighbouring Districts 7, 10 and 21. We have built lasting friendships through our annual joint lunches and by supporting each other’s District Rallies, and I hope to strengthen these connections even further during my year.

I am also excited to represent District 6 at the Inner Wheel International Convention in Manila, Philippines, in 2027, where I will proudly cast your votes on international matters and bring back new ideas and friendships to share.

I look forward to meeting many of you throughout the year and sharing a wonderful year of friendship, service and fun together.

Who we support

My chosen charity is Charity Breast Friends Solihull. I joined this charity many years ago following my own diagnosis and surgery for Breast cancer. I am the co-chair and work tirelessly to help others through their journey of dealing with cancer.
The charity is entirely run by volunteers who have all suffered from this terrible disease.
2026 is a special year for the charity as it has just celebrated its 25th Anniversary. It has been nominated for the King’s Award for Volunteers (KAV’s) Although we won’t know until November if the charity has been successful, it’s exciting times
