District Chairman

Joint District Chairman Chantal Macauley
Welcome
Deirdre di Palma and Chantal Macauley are serving as a double act for 2026/27 which they hope will be less stressful and a lot more fun! They look forward to seeing fellow members at District Meetings and Club visits.
Hi From Chantal.
Just to let you know, despite the accent, I was born in England. I grew up in Canada and then moved to Europe and Great Britain and back again and again! My Inner Wheel journey started in 2013 when a friend introduced me to the Bangor Club. I’ve served as Secretary, President (during Covid) and International – so as many others within Inner Wheel I have done a bit of everything.
Hi From Deirdre.
I haven’t got such an interesting bio. My accent was Liverpudlian and I was sent to elocution lessons to smooth the accent out a little! My Inner Wheel journey started in 2022 - it was a case of curiosity killed the cat. I was a member of a book club, and everyone kept talking about what they were doing in Inner Wheel and I was drawn in. Very quickly I became Secretary and that is my role at the moment. So far it’s been a journey of discovery.

Who we support
For our charity we have chosen
Huntington’s Disease Association
Their mission is to help people living with Huntington’s disease to live a better life. We improve care and support services for people with Huntington’s disease, educate families and professionals, and champion people’s rights.

Our International Charity this year is African Adventures Foundation. This is a registered charity set up in 2013 to provide support to over 50 schools in developing areas of The Gambia, Ghana, Kenya and Zanzibar.
Support will also be given to President Pat's chosen charity, Papyrus www.papyrus-uk.org

The International charity remains as Mary's Meals

There is gender inequality in education around the world, but by providing daily meals in school, we remove one hugely significant barrier for girls, giving them opportunities that they otherwise may not have.
